At Lume Health, we're always looking for ways to deepen our understanding and connections in the disability support space. That's why our team recently attended the Source Kids Expo—an incredible opportunity to engage with other providers and discover new services that can benefit the participants we support.

Our Occupational Therapist, Natalie, and Physiotherapist, Han, spent the day exploring booths, attending talks, and most importantly, connecting with people and organisations dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities.

Why Expos Like This Matter

Events like the Source Kids Expo bring together a wide range of NDIS providers, support organisations, and passionate individuals. They're not just about collecting brochures—they're about building community, sharing knowledge, and learning directly from people with lived experience.

These expos help us stay up-to-date with innovative services and equipment so we can better support NDIS participants and their families, who rely on us for high-quality allied health services.

Meeting New Providers Making a Difference

Natalie connected with several inspiring providers, including Rainbow Club Australia and Social Spectrum. She also had the chance to hear from the founder of Spectrum Quest, a lived experience speaker who created the organisation to empower autistic individuals through social connection and advocacy.

"It was powerful to hear directly from someone who has lived experience. I discovered new social groups that I didn't even know existed. These connections help us provide more tailored support for our participants."

Meanwhile, Han explored both Independent Living Specialists and Freedom Wheels. These providers are making a real impact—offering innovative equipment and solutions to improve daily living and mobility for people with disabilities.

"Connecting with providers like Freedom Wheels and Independent Living Specialists helps us find practical, high-quality solutions that genuinely improve our participants' independence and quality of life."

A Shared Commitment to Better Care

Our time at the expo reminded us how vital collaboration is in the world of disability support. It's not just about what we do as allied health professionals—it's about who we know, and how we bring that network together to help participants thrive.
